Welcome to Instant Username Search, a project that started from a simple personal need and blossomed into a widely used tool for individuals and brands worldwide.

Back in 2019, as a software engineer in the early stage of my career, I stumbled upon a challenge that some of us face online. I wanted to secure a consistent username across various social media platforms.

This quest led me to develop a solution not just for myself but for anyone facing the same. I created a simple website with minimal interface, and a robust backend. The tool allowed users to instantly check the availability of their desired usernames across multiple social networks.

Motivated by friends, I took a leap and showcased this project on Product Hunt on April 16th, 2019. The response was beyond my expectations. Instant Username Search was celebrated as the 3rd Product of the Day. This recognition was not just an achievement for the project but a milestone in my personal growth journey. At that time, being in my first year of a full-time job as a junior software engineer, this was a great accomplishment for me.

As the project gained traction, its user base has grown from around the world. Instant Username Search became my canvas, onto which I painted new knowledge and skills acquired throughout my career. Initially deployed on a free Heroku instance (easy to deploy cloud platform), the project soon outgrew its humble beginnings.

However, as the user base expanded, so did the demands on the infrastructure. To this day, I’m still learning and migrating it from platform to platform :)

Today, Instant Username Search is used by thousands of people every day. It has become a valuable tool for individuals, brands, and businesses looking to establish a consistent online presence.
